The VICARAGE at ST. MARY MAGDALENE'S RETREAT offers a unique living experience in the mountains of northern California just outside of Yreka, California, in Siskiyou County.

St. Mary Magdalene's Retreat is renting out the main house (vicar's residence) while the vicar is away at school. The vicarage house is available for rent on a long-term basis.

The vicarage has

• two large bedrooms,
• two smaller sleeping bedrooms,
• one bathroom with tub and separate shower,
• large country kitchen
• large fenced yard,
• woodshed,
• and storage garage.

St. Mary Magdalene's Retreat is a 40-acre ranch at the end of a private road. The property played a part in local history having been an old Indian campground which was later the site of a dance hall and saloon for gold miners and loggers. The oldest structure on the ranch, once a brothel, has made an about face and now serves as the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene, the namesake of the retreat. Schulmeyer Creek runs all the way through the property and behind the chapel.
As there is no drive-by traffic, the silence is quite profound. There is an abundance of wildlife, farm animals and pets, and several graded roads and paths for meditative walks.

St. Mary Magdalene's Retreat is near 4000 feet elevation in a relatively dry, but forested, mountainous region in extreme northern California just south of Yreka, 4-1/2 miles off Interstate 5. It is located 100 miles north of Redding, California, and 60 miles south of Medford, Oregon.

Rent for the vicarage is $975 USD per month. Security/cleaning deposit is $1500 which is fully refundable. Occupancy is limited to two persons.
